It just gets better and better...

It looks unlikely my train to Glasgow will be running at all today, so who knows if it'll be back on by tomorrow. Everyone elses trains seem to be running without problem now though thankfully, even David's(!), it's just myself i've got to worry about now...

My plan b of getting to Glasgow, which was to go into Edinburgh on the north line at Bathgate (a 40 minute bus ride in the first instance to get there) and then get the Queen Street train from Edinburgh. At the moment that's fecked up as well, as the Bathgate line is also suspended.

Things better resolve themselves before tomorrow. I'm stressed out ever so slightly as it is, so to be unable to get in to study today and also be faced with the possibility of not getting at all doesn't make me feel a world better.

Jan. 12th, 2005 @ 11:31 am Great
Bloody excellent

The attempt to visit Glasgow today so i'd be in peace for some serious studying hit one TINY hitch this morning, when I looked on the National Rail website:

No fookin' trains

Grr. Oh well, going to have to get working in the house, against my better advice.

Trains for most of us look like being disrupted, David's the only one who I can see has had the whole bloody line cancelled with no alternative. Here's hoping all is back in order by tomorrow...

So,

I'm halfway through my essay, will hopefully get it out of the way before Thursday.

Studying for news writing, well, it would help if I hadn't lost the bit of paper I'd wrote things down on that we are to study. Ach well.

Will be winging my way into Glasgow tomorrow to study, hopefully be in for 11 or so if anyone is going in for some studying.

Also having to do the match report for Livi tomorrow night, but the rain will probably wash the game out. I'll know by 12pm, that's when the pitch inspection is.

Ciao.

Onto the 6th day now - the 6th day of the resolutions and the 6th day of keeping them. I'd like to think I picked some easy ones this year, but we'll see.

My exam revision and my essay aren't steaming along too hotly - going to find the time in the morning to get more content into the essay before heading through to Glasgow on the 3pm train to meet David to do some shopping. I tried to shop in Livingston today, but the sales and such like end up taking the space away from the non-sale items that i'd probably want to buy. Managed to find one top in a sale which was too big though, musn't grumble.

I've also got into the terrible habit of waking late and being up to hours like this in the morning. Hoping to break that prior to next week, will certainly need to if i'm ever going to make it in to finish revision and the UK Governance essay off.

Anyway, nothing interesting to add. Shall save the good stuff for tomorrow, and the 'other' journal. You're right David, it does do the trick sometimes.

Dec. 31st, 2004 @ 02:14 pm And to finish
I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played it till my fingers bled
It was the summer of ’69

Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit, and Jody got married
I shoulda known we’d never get far
Oh when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah - I’d always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life

Ain’t no use in complainin’
When you got a job to do
Spent my evenin’s down at the drive-in
And that’s when I met you

Standin’ on your mama’s porch
You told me that you’d wait forever
Oh and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life

Back in the summer of ’69

Man we were killin’ time
We were young and restless
We needed to unwind
I guess nothin’ can last forever - forever, no

And now the times are changin’
Look at everything that’s come and gone
Sometimes when I play that old six-string
I think about ya wonder what went wrong

Standin’ on your mama’s porch
You told me it would last forever
Oh the way you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life

Back in the summer of ’69
